Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2027
Phase 1 closes on 30 September, not 30 November as commonly listed. Entry moved to the festival's own platform, and music videos are explicitly excluded.
One of Asia's largest short film festivals, and Academy Award-qualifying in live action, non-fiction and animation. Entry has moved entirely to the festival's own platform, LIFE LOG BOX, and shortshorts.org no longer publishes the deadlines itself.

The rules that matter
- Music videos are not accepted. The rules state: "All genres are accepted with the exception of animation, non-fiction films and music videos" for the main live-action competition.
- Winners in Live Action, Non-Fiction and Animation are Academy Award eligible.
- Final selections are announced by the end of April 2027.
- Entry fees and running-time limits sit behind a platform login, so we cannot state them.
A correction to our earlier listing
We listed the regular deadline as 30 November 2026. That is Phase 2. The next deadline is Phase 1 on 30 September 2026, and entering later costs more. We also previously carried a 25-minute runtime limit that appears only on an archived 2022 page; we have removed it rather than repeat it.
